Hot Foil Stamping
Foil stamping is the application of foil to a selected substrate using heat and pressure to create a stylish, durable image. Larkin uses hot foil stamping because it is the only method that meets the most stringent requirements such as handling rough surfaces and tactile designs with outstanding brilliance and durability.
Larkin offers a vast selection of colors and tactile effects to achieve maximum customer attraction, with styles available from premium manufacturers including Kurz, Infinity, and General Roll Leaf.
Embossing and Debossing
The embossing process creates a raised image by applying pressure to the substrate. When an indentation is preferred, the process is referred to as debossing. Embossing effects truly make print or images stand out, and create tactile sensations to enhance your design.
Embossing can single level, multi-level, or sculptured images. Embossing can also be combined with with foil stamping, referred to as combo embossing, to create an even more enhanced look for your designs.
Die Cutting
Die cutting is the process of using a die to cut shapes from a sheet of stock, such as paper or cardboard. From a simple rectangular window to multiple intricate designs, Larkin's focus on precision will ensure your product stands out.
Larkin can cut various stocks including paper, plastic, lenticulars, magnets, foam core, vinyl, leather, and Velcro. Additionally capabilities include scoring, kiss cutting, perforations, glue tab assists, internal stripping, and thermal cold die cutting.
Folding and Gluing
Folding and gluing is the process used to convert a flat sheet into a finished product. Larkin's folding and gluing process prioritizes strength and quality that lend elegance and sophistication to your product. Our specialties include premium folding cartons for the cosmetics industry to high-volume direct mail inserting that require precision and data security.
Other capabilities include high-quality pocket folders, gusseted folders, gift card holders, greeting cards, and shipping envelopes. Whatever your product, Larkin ensures only the highest quality glue is used for durability and our folding process is gentle enough for even the softest of stocks.
Imaging
Imaging or industrial inkjet printing adds a bar code, QR code, or address line to various stock. Our Eagle and Falcon inkjet printers by MCS have print areas of up to 4.25 inches to ensure flawless QR and bar codes, every single time. This high level of precision doesn't impact speed, with rated processing rates of up to 32,000 envelopes per hour.
Larkin is able print in many different colors to ensure customer attraction. We can also stack printers to print multiple codes or address lines depending on your needs. Partnered with MCS's Raptor software, you can feel confident your customer's data is secured and each code is matched properly to customer data.
Affixing
Sometimes referred to as onserting or tipping, affixing is the automated gluing of items to direct mail envelopes, packages, or other carriers. We use high quality fugitive glue to ensure affixed items can be easily removed without damage to the item or the carrier.
We have the capability to affix many different items, including gift cards, CR-80 cards, lotion packs, magnets, keys, magnetic strips, coupons, and various other items. Our process is designed with efficiency in mind, and our specialty are large volume orders that require precise placement of items.
Laser Engraving and Micro Embossing
Through our partners at Converting Technology Engraving (CTE), Larkin is able to offer the most precise foil dies in the industry. CTE's laser engraving process achieves a level of detail chemical etching and CNC machining cannot match. The laser etching process removes material leaving a perfect 90 degree wall and consistent depth. This allows for excellent foil release on fine type or intricate foiling patterns or combo embossing.
