Embossing vs. Debossing

So what are the differences between embossing and debossing?

Embossing is when a raised impression is made on paper or card stock. It works best on soft and uncoated textured paper. (Rigid paper or card stock tends to crack or split.)

Debossing is almost the same thing as embossing, but the impression is indented, not raised.

With this type of print finishing technique, you can get single level, multi-level and sculptured images. There are multiple depth and bevel choices too.
